what is the damping factor of the gtr 601 at 2ohms?

Asked by: diamondcut
Hi! Unfortunately, we do not have this specification. However, we do know that the damping factor is well over 100. We are currently working to find the exact number for this Product.

Hi ! Does this gtr-601 works in 4ohm 380w rms with a magnat subwoofer 4 ohm 400w rms ?? Doesnt is it ( AMP) too low power for subwoofer , and then will gonna be distorsions over 75%-80% amp volume ? Thanks a lot ! Have a nice DAY jbl entire team !!!

Asked by: Teodor Mihai
Hi, There would not be any problem with having the Amp power up the Sub since the Sub can handle 400W. It would depend on the source as distortion normally is an indicator for you to turn your volume down a little. There are separate level controls for the subwoofer(not all subwoofers have one) and the amp. Try minimizing the knob for the sub and check if that does the trick.

I am buying 2 JBL CLUB WS 1200. What would be the best amp to run these 2 subs

Asked by: KDUB
You can run the 2 JBL Club WS 1200 with the JBL GTR-601 amplifier. The GTR-601 will drive 600WRMS through all the channels and since you will be using 2 Subs it will be distributed evenly with 300W per sub. The Club WS 1200 can handle 250W with a 1000W peak power handle, so as long as you don't push the volume up to the hilt the speaker should be good.

Can I wire up a single Alpine SWR-10d2 to this amp at 4 ohms?

Asked by: Zmannn05
As long as the Alpine SWR-10d2 can handle 380Wrms at 4 ohms, it will work fine with the GTR-601.

When wiring a single 4 ohm dvc subwoofer @ 2 ohms, do you bridge the GTR-601 to get 600 watts RMS or just use either set of outputs?

Asked by: George O
This is a mono amplifier, so there is no possibility for bridging. The two sets of speaker terminals are simply for convenience, in case you want to connect two speakers to this single-channel amp. So, to answer your question, if you are connecting only one speaker at 2 ohms, you can connect it to one speaker terminal on the amp, and you will be good to go.

Can I adjust the power output? Because it outputs 600W at 2ohms, its too much for one S3-1224, or is it better to go with gtx500?

Asked by: mihaS
The S3-1224 handles up to 500W at 2/4 ohms. The GTX-500 would be a better fit since it drives 500W at 2-ohms.

Can those amp push 2 12inches memphis mojo?

Asked by: TeeDawg
With each speaker set at 4 ohms, the amplifier will see a 2 ohm load and will put out a maximum of 600 watts (300 watts to each speaker). 300 watts is more than enough to drive your speakers. The questions is; is it enough for your listening taste? If you are looking to get the subs to play as loud as they can possibly play, you will need a more powerful amp. But if the volume that 600 watts produces is enough for you, this amp will do a fine job driving your speakers.
