JBL latest Club subwoofers offer incredible installation flexibility. Their low-profile design allows them to fit perfectly into even the most shallow of enclosures — great for today’s compact cars. Polypropylene woofer cones deliver exceptional bass response at frequencies as low as 27Hz. But what makes these subs really stand out is their Harman-proprietary SSITM (Selectable Smart Impedance), which allows the subwoofer to present the amplifier with either a 2 or 4 ohm load at the flip of a switch.

Club WS1200 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value I put 1 12 in my 2008 GMC crew cab in .85 cu. ft. box on 750 watts and it slams. I was very surprised by the sound quality. It doesn't sound like a flat woofer!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Van-Shaking Bass! Bought one of these for my VW T4 van. Built a sealed enclosure for it and it sounds incredible. Bass is van shaking and goes really well with my JBL GTO 6x9s. Great for adding some extra kick to older styles of music and even better for adding some thunder in genres like Drum and Bass!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Unit I used to do pro concert audio about 20 years ago. We were mostly using EV, Celestion and Peavey. A local distributor started importing JBL and their power and clarity for size ratio was very impressive. They were a bit costly at the time though. I recently had the desire to upgrade my vehicle audio. The JBL speaker units were affordable and so I gave them a try. Brilliant speaker. It's an auto speaker so the sensitivity is less than a pro unit which would be around 100 - 103dB, but I am really impressed. I put a single unit in the boot in a sealed enclosure and it fills the car completely: Tucson SUV. I used a sealed, off-the-shelf product - yes, I used to tune all my cabinets to the TS parameters - but I don't have the tools or the workspace for it at the moment so I had to settle. 27Hz is low, and even in a shallow, closed cabinet it reproduces the low B (31Hz) of an electric bass or double bass consistently and clearly. The only issue is the speaker diaphragm displacement. I can't find the exact excursions limits but on the kick drum and low-end chords it is significant. So significant in fact that that the sealed cabinet actually 'kicks back'. It bottoms out in the cabinet and 'flaps'. But, that's not the driver's issue - it's an asset - it's a cabinet issue. I plan to purchase another unit, and get the fitment centre to put the two into a reflex-type enclosure. I'm leaning towards a 6th order bandpass but I haven't done the calculations yet, so that may change. Highly recommend the unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for any size car Put this in a sealed enclosure running a much higher rated amp that what the sub can handle. Turned down the gain to match it up, ran the sub in nicely and it is working amazingly. Especially since I'm running a single 12" in a sealed box in what is effectively a station wagon. The OHM switch is an amazing feature that makes life much easier and so much quicker to do an install.

i am considering buying 2 of these for a dodge ram with a q bomb box( .65 cubic feet of internal air space). is that enough air space? and if so what amp would work better ( gx-a3001 or club 5501)? thank you

Asked by: cusser
While we recommend .75cuft for a sealed enclosure, you can go up or down 10% in size without noticing any negative effects. So, you can certainly go down to .65, per sub. It is a tiny bit more than 10%, but will be okay. On the other hand, if .65 is the total for both subs, this is way too small. The full technical specification sheet is available on our product Specs & Support page. The CLUB WS1200 can handle power up to 250 W with a selectable impedance of 2/4 ohms. You may use any amplifier that can drive power up to 200-250W at 2/4 ohms. I would recommend the GX-A3001. It can drive 200 W of power at 4-ohms.

What is the xmax of this sub in MM, do they play in sealed or ported? what size sealed and what size ported and what size port and length, if you answer all 5 questions i will buy some

Asked by: CDGG
Here are the answers to your questions. 1. X-Maxx (MM) = 7.65 (either Impedence). 2. Sealed Enclosure = 0.75 cubic feet. 3. Ported Enclosure = 1.75 cubic feet with a 4” (102mm) diameter port that’ll be 10” (254mm) long, tuned to 33Hz. 4. Band-Pass Enclosure = 1 cubic feet rear and 1.75 cubic feet front with a 4” (102mm diameter port that’ll be 7.5” (190.5mm) long, tuned to 53Hz. The full technical specification sheet is available on our product support page.

Does the 0.75 cubic feet requirement on sealed enclosures take into account the amount of volume displaced (consumed) by the sub? If not, how much should one add to the 0.75 cubic feet value to accommodate the sub?

Asked by: Silky Smoove
Yes. The 0.75 cubic feet requirement for sealed enclosures includes driver displacement.

I'm looking to build a system running two of these speakers. I'm not sure what amp would work best with these speakers. I'd like loud full bass but I don't want to damage my speakers.

The CLUB WS1200 can handle power up to 250 W with a selectable impedance of 2/4 ohms. You may use any amplifier that can drive power up to 200-250W at 2/4 ohms. I would recommend the GX-A3001. It can drive 200 W of power at 4-ohms.

I don't know a ton about car speakers and such, so cut me a little slack here.  Does this sub go in the rear deck of the car or in the trunk?? If this goes in the trunk, where can find a sub that goes in the rear deck? Thanks!

Asked by: MelCart
It depends on the model of your car. The WS1200 can be put in the trunk with a proper enclosure. As for the sub that goes in the rear deck, you may check out any car subwoofer on our website, put in the model of your car and it will tell you if it will fit your car.
