What's in the Box:

  • Owner’s manual
JBL believes sound quality should never be compromised. And Series III subwoofers make sure you don’t have to compromise flexibility, either. That’s because the high-performance, step-up subwoofers feature SSI™ (Selectable Smart Impedance), an exclusive impedance switch that lets you select the optimum impedance—2 or 4 ohms—for your system. Special aero-cooling design in the voice coil boosts power handling as well as reliability. And an oversized voice coil handles more power than common two-inch voice coils. More power, more reliability, more flexibility—and no compromising. When you’re ready to step up, Series III is your subwoofer.
Product Features:
  • SSI™ (Selectable Smart Impedance)
Most car audio system designs call for 2- or 4-ohm impedance. Series III subwoofers feature an exclusive dual impedance switch that lets you choose either load impedance option. Not available from any other manufacturer, SSI lets you reconfigure your system by simply flipping a switch.
  • Aero-cooled voice coil
The Series III voice coil significantly increases power handling and improves reliability by going with the flow—of air. The woofer’s motor channels air pumped by the cone movement past the voice coil, and the voice coil former exposes the coil’s inner and outer surfaces to the airflow. This aero-cooling design is unique among aftermarket subwoofers.
  • Oversized voice coil
The three-inch (75mm) voice coil proves you don’t have to be a heavyweight to pack a serious punch. It handles more power than conventional two-inch voice coils, yet it’s lighter than four-inch voice coils. It strikes the perfect balance between thermal power handling and low mass.
  • Premium screw-down terminals
Power is the lifeblood of any subwoofer. The terminals on the Series III accommodate up to 8-guage wire (8.37mm2 cross section), which transfers low-resistance, low-loss power to the woofer, even over long wire runs. This ensures the subwoofer—and your music—has the power it needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deep bass I like this subwoofer on sealed box. It has a very nice bass. I deal with audio systems since I was little. Jbl subwoofers has a great Hz response which mean more bass. I was originally planing to put 2 but 1 is plenty. This set up works great amazing sound . I couldn't be any happier.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from For JBL... ok... What happened to you guys? This is your selling flag ship now? It's mechanical specs shows sloppy, and a BL factor isn't even present which to me, means a waste of time to even input for theoretical specs... every since you did the GTi series, you went WAY down on quality.... you want someone who knows what's really JBL quality, you email me at the email given below (initials is JBL). Otherwise, flag ship drivers like this are nothing but paper weights.

Hi, I have purchased two of these subwoofers and I would like to know which amplifiers you would best recommend to run them please?

Asked by: Sumentheran
Hi, and thank you for supporting JBL! You have two very powerful subwoofer drivers, and I will always recommend plenty of power, in order to avoid running into problems due to lack of power. Such problems could be lack of control, clipping of the output waveform and consequent damage. Of course, this is only relevant if you really want to push the woofers to the limit from time to time. Our best amplifier for the purpose is the GTR-1001. You should select 4 Ohms on both woofers, connect them in parallel and connect them both to the amp, which will see into a 2 Ohm load, producing about 1.000 Watts. You can of course also purchase two smaller amps, like the GX-A3001, and run them into the woofers that can be set to 2 Ohms, where the amps will produce up to 300 Watts for each woofer. I hope this helps.

Beste, Heb de sub besteld alleen wil een gesloten kist en de sub op ze kop hoeveel liters heb ik nodig?

Asked by: Mike599

Asked by: Brendan10091999
