HK 3700 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Sound I bought the HK 3700 to go with my HK 2.1 speaker system. The sound is excellent. This is audio only and does not support HDMI connection. The HDMI connections are made from the Cable box, DVD Player, etc. to the TV. Audio cables are used to connect the TV to the HK 3700. It's a bit of a headache for those of us who are electronically challenged. But, once the system is set up, all is well with the world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new HK3700 I just received my amplifier/receiver. I love the quality of the sound. I also like that I was able to directly connect a turntable (without a separate pre-amp box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for unit purchased in 1969 I purchased a Harman Kardon amp in early 1969. It lost a channel in late 2016, which prompted this purchase. Excellent unit then and now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! I got this for Christmas to replace an old 70's receiver. Surprisingly good sound. Pushes my 120 watt speakers with ease. Love having a remote and the display an extra bonus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm. I bought this as a replacement for my NAD and I couldn't be happier. It came packaged great and worked perfectly out of the box. Sounds great and has a sleek interface. Would definitely buy this again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid Aside from the fact that the "Speaker 2" (aka A/B) did not work out of the box (Fry's was cool about the return, even with a lost receipt)....I was disappointed in the cheap quality and feel of the controls; the "iOS compatibility" feature only works through USB cable, not wirelessly; and beware of the power output: model 3700 advertises 170 watts, but it is 85 watts/channnel, whereas the 3770 advertises only 120 watts but it is 120 watts/channel (i.e., more powerful, despite the inconsistent labeling). I could have lived with the lower power and simply added a bluetooth adapter, assuming both A/B channels worked....but I decided not to replace it with a working HK 3700 or 3770 because the quality was so poor. I expected better from Harman Kardon.

I have a Fisher turntable and receiver from 1980, both work. Time to retire receiver. Will this work work with turntable and dvd player? Is it hard to jook up? I don't know technical terms so talk to me like I'm 5.

can u please suggest the best compatible speakers for this hk 3700 mor hk 3770

Asked by: rajesh25
For both HK3700 and HK 3770, what I can suggest would be the JBL Studio 220 bookshelf speakers as It can receive up to 125W at 8 ohms. The should also be good since they're small and you can place them on a bookshelf so you can enjoy playing music.

The spec sheet says the HK 3700 plays MP3 - WMA - WAV - via USB - but the Manual says it only plays MP3 and WMA? - I can't understand why such a high-quality audio product would be limited to lossy formats via USB? - product killer/dealbreaker

would this be compatible with HKTS 16BQ 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker Package (Black)

Asked by: reynaldo
As the HK3700 is a stereo receiver, It can only connect 2 speakers to it. If you're planning to use 5.1 then I would recommend the AVR 1610S for you to experience the full potential of 5.1 surround sound.
