The HKTS 30 is a powerful 5.1-channel solution with dual midrange drivers in both the satellites and the centre channel for heightened realism, and a 200-watt powered subwoofer for bass that isn’t one bit intimidated by low frequencies – or by people who talk during your screenings.
Product Features:
  • 5.1-channel home theater surround-sound system
As a complete home theater package, the HKTS 30BQ has everything you need – including satellite bases, wall-mounting hardware and all necessary cables – in one box. And by including removable shelf-mount stands and wall-mount brackets for the satellite and center speakers, the system offers you great flexibility for installing the speakers in different locations.
  • Four two-way, 120W satellite speakers
Four voice-matched satellite speakers with tandem 3-inch (75-millimeter) midrange drivers and 3/4-inch (19-millimeter) high-frequency dome tweeters produce a rich, realistic, all-encompassing sonic performance with convincing sound effects. You can place these video-shielded speakers near your TV without causing magnetic interference.
  • Voice-matched, 120W dual-driver center speaker
The HKTS 30BQ’s center-channel speaker features tandem 3-inch (75-millimeter) midrange drivers and a 3/4-inch (19-millimeter) high-frequency dome tweeter for clear, precise dialogue from movies, TV shows or other media created for a multichannel sound system. Constant-directivity waveguides decrease the tweeter’s directivity at high frequencies. The result is a wide stereo image across a large listening area.
  • Powerful, 200W down-firing subwoofer
The HKTS 30BQ’s 200-watt, down-firing subwoofer with an 8-inch (200-millimeter) driver offers deep, authoritative low-frequency realism that lends richness and believability to whatever imagery you’re seeing on screen – while remaining surprisingly unimposing off-screen. The subwoofer lends an impressive richness and credibility to your home theater experience.
  • Stunning, décor-complementing modern design
The HKTS 30BQ represents a décor-friendly complement to any entertainment center or home theater. Its contemporary styling incorporates glossy, black accents, polished surfaces and elegant symmetry – elements that are clearly part of the rich Harman Kardon® design heritage. The system’s compact, unobtrusive dimensions offer virtually unlimited installation options.
  • Bass-boost controls and phase switches for subwoofer
Controls on the HKTS 30BQ’s 200-watt subwoofer let you fine-tune its bass output for your personal taste and room acoustics. Bass-boost and phase switches also allow you to optimize subwoofer performance, depending upon where you place the speakers. A subwoofer properly in phase with the satellite speakers generates clear and lifelike sounds for instruments such as drums, piano and plucked strings.
  • Magnetically shielded loudspeaker components
Unshielded loudspeaker components can upset the magnetic field in a conventional TV, resulting in visible color shifts and possible long-term damage. But the HKTS 30BQ’s magnetically shielded loudspeaker components can deliver high-quality, high-performance results even when you place them near a TV.
  • LFE (low-frequency effects) input connector
The HKTS 30BQ includes an LFE (low-frequency effects) input connector that bypasses the subwoofer’s internal low-pass crossover. As a result, you can use a receiver/processor’s dedicated subwoofer output to provide enhanced low-end performance.
  • Compatible with the HTFS 3/E floor stands
If wall-mounting is not your preferred method of installation, optional HTFS 3/E floor stands (sold separately) set the HKTS 30BQ satellite speakers at the ideal ear-level listening position. The aluminum-extrusion columns, which also include a self-contained wire-management system, will elegantly complement virtually any décor.
  • Upgradable to 7.1 channels
If you want to move beyond the all-encompassing power of this 5.1-channel surround-sound system, you can easily add a pair of front-height or rear-channel surround loudspeakers – and hence unleash the 7.1-channel capability of your HKTS 30BQ system. The 7.1 surround-sound format elevates the impact of your entertainment experience with a richer, more thorough soundstage.

HKTS 30 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, sounds great, very loud too Got the HKTS 30 with the AVR1710s and HKFS 3 floor stands, all on sale, and they looks stunning. The sound is great, I haven't experienced any rattling like someone else mentioned. This system can be very loud, I got a noise complaint from my neighbor on my 3rd day using it while watching my Tron Legacy Blu-ray with the volume set to -15db (roughly 75% max volume) and subwoofer on max, this system was shaking my entire apartment and my neighbor's apartment too. Pros: Stylish, Great Sound Cons: Surround sound speakers come with only 32.5ft wires (I needed at least 50ft for an 11x19 ft room)

Which receiver/amplifier should I get with this system?

Asked by: JuanCarlos
For these speakers I would recommend the AVR 1710S which drives 100W per channel @ 6/8 ohms since HKTS 30 can handle 120W @ 8 ohms.

I have a Bose Lifestyle 12 . All my wires are ran is side the wall and my ceiling is Sheetrock so I do not have access to run new wires without making a mess  Can i use the Bose wiring with there speaker jacks with your system and what kind of wall mounts

Asked by: Boston tinman
Hi! Yes, the same speaker wires should work just as fine on the HKTS 30. Regardless of where the speaker wires originally came from, they should work on any speaker, given that there are no issues in between the wires that are inside the wall. Wall mounts are also included on the packaging of the HKTS 30.

Is it possible to mount the rear speakers on the ceiling?

Asked by: shawnl0514
Hi, It would be possible but the HKTS 30 is designed for wall mounts only so i would not recommend to mount it to the ceiling.

As per your website HKTS 30BQ can be pluged into 220/240v- 50/60Hz; but I read in Amazon web site, that the 200w sub woofer is wired for 120v. Can you clarify that for me please. Osie

Also I need to know if I am to purchase HKTS 30 BQ; instead of the 200w 8 inch sub woofer, whether there is any possibility to buy a Harman Kardon 200w 10 inch sub woofer; or do you recommend a different home theater system to connect with AVR171S. Osie

what is the difference between HKTS 16 and HKTS 30? Both seem to be having the same technical specifications

Asked by: Sam Rayburn
Yes. Both are the same in terms of technical specifications. The main difference is that the HKTS 30 has a slightly larger tweeter (3/4") than the HKTS 16 (1/2"), meaning that it has a slightly wider range. Also, the HKTS 30 is composed of premium quality materials with a few design tweaks that is why it is more expensive.
