JBL Authentics L16 = Pure Listening Pleasure
Have not been disappointed in my purchase of the JBL Authentic L16; love the ol’skool look that was inspired by the legendary JBL Century L100 loudspeakers that I grew up with.
I stream 99% of the time with Wi-Fi from my iTunes. Also in order for me to truly enjoy the JBL Authentic L16 experience, I had to up-graded all my MP3 music to 320 kbps, sure am glad I did this for the acoustics are crystal clear at all audio levels and it is a pure pleasure to listen to.
If you’re ever looking, I would definitely recommend that you check out and listen to JBL Authentic L16… you will not be disappointed.

I listen to a lot of recorded music for pipe organ and the pedal notes come through undistorted and distinguishable as notes (not just vague rumble). With the L16 I am down sizing from a large stereo (Magnepan speakers, NAD separates, and a Hsu Research 200w sub-woofer. The L16 holds its own against this system.
So far I'm streaming from the internet and my iTunes collection over bluetooth. With its phono inputs (MM and MC) plus line in and the L16 would make a terrific all-in-one stereo system for smaller spaces (apts. etc.). It weighs 40 lbs. so it will need a sturdy base.
In sum, the L16 is a 5/5 in my book.

Wow what great sound
I have had this speaker for about 3 days now and all I can say is Wow!! This speaker is extremely loud and sounds better the louder you play it. I would suggest using the JBL app to adjust the treble, mids, and bass. The looks are amazing and love the walnut wood look. JBL you knocked this one out of the park! The only problem I seem to have is connecting the WIFI to my computer or phone instead of blue tooth. Maybe I am doing something wrong. I brought this into work the other day and I got lots of drooling all over the speaker (thanks JBL LOL) and everyone asked to turn it up and when I did they were in awe by the sound even at high levels. I would recommend streaming at CD quality to get the best out of the speaker and none of this MP3 quality junk, I use Tidal for my music server

Great sound and connectivity!
I've owned the JBL L16 for close to a year and a half and I could not be any happier. At the time of purchasing I ended up deciding between the L8 and the L16 (after discarding the competitors), and I'm glad I ended up picking the L16. This thing sounds great! Not only it sounds great, it is powerful enough to fill a large space while keeping the audio quality intact. And it looks fantastic in the living room, it is a beautiful and well designed piece. Not to mention the connectivity via Airplay (which is what I use the most) and Bluetooth. I'm no expert audiophile but I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

Sounds too good to be true, but it is!
I have had this for a few months now and absolutely love it. Great full, deep, rich sound which never falters or fails to fill up my room. Beautiful retro 70s design, simple, elegant and stylish. Features are great and beyond what I could ask for (although I agree that it is a shame that the phono pre amp is lower quality than would be expected), however I find that not having a dedicated remote for the unit is not on par with the level of this product and a major oversight. There are numerous times that it is inconvenience to have the remote be accessed only through my iPhone. I heard a rumor that there might be a follow up release of a remote coming soon, I hope this is true, I would pay extra to have that. All in all, very happy with the purchase and would do it again if I was making the same decision for a home system.

Great sounding system, bad Phono pre-amp.
The L16 is a very good sounding system for your WiFi / Blu-Tooth devices, one of the best I have heard for portable devices. It is also beautiful to look at, great design, and seems to be built very well.
I only gave it 3 stars (I would have done 3.5 if it was available) because unfortunately JBL/Harmen Kardon did not spend time or money to put a proper turntable / phono pre-amp in. It's the nosiest pre-amp I have ever heard in my life, even with the turntable disconnected you can hear loud white noise. It's just very disappointing that they take the time to build this beautiful system and then cut a big corner with the phono input.
Also when it comes to setting up the system with your WiFi, which looks like it should be easy, I have had multiple problems where the system will just disconnect it self from the network and will not connect again until I repeat the setup procedure. It just seems buggy which I'm hoping JBL will fix with a software update.

super sound, schlechte software

Great sound and detailed reproduction of music
I just bought this product and it sounds like the artist is in your living room . I'am using primarily Bluetooth and what a difference with Signal Doctor it makes my Itunes collection come to life. Also the speaker looks very classy with the walnut finish.
