JBL Bar 3.1 is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Blown Away ! I wanted a simple set up for my Game Room and the 70'' LED TV in it . For over a year now I looked at tons of sound bars since I always felt that would be the easiest choice , but I couldn't find anything that sounded great and actually had bass , since the game room is also 25 x 18 . Then after totally giving up I found this , I can't say thank you enough JBL for making a absolutely amazing sound bar system with balls , BIG HUGE BASS BALLS !!!! And the kids and highs are just as amazing sounding !!!!! Don't wait another single moment , if this is what your looking for , get off your butt , and run to the store and buy this system worth every single penny !!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this to replace an older receiver/speaker set in our small, oddly-shaped living room in order to reduce the number of wires everywhere. So far, very happy with with sound quality. Set up was easy. The room looks super clean now with just the sound bar and the sub tucked away in the corner. One thing I'd like to see are on-screen display of the volume level when using HDMI out to the TV. (I'm using the soundbar as an HDMI switch, so my PS4 and AppleTV go HDMI out to the inputs on the Bar, then Bar HDMI out to the TV). The remote is also a little light, weight-wise. On the plus side, the new AppleTV 4k remote controls the volume on the Bar. Thanks JBL for the super fast shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superiority soundbar in its class! The sales person at best buy convinced me to buy Definitive Technology - W Studio Micro 3.1 My first choice was Definitive and caught my attention since it offers deep deep black Friday discounts but It has a lot of connectivity and compatibility issues during setup. Not compatible with my cable receiver and 78" Samsung uhd remotes and I was having very hard time connecting with subwoofer because my router also wasn't on the compatible list. I finally gave up on Definitive and ended up returning it and got a JBL 3.1 sound bar and it was perfect! Awesome overall sound and powerful bass! most of all, the setup was very friendly with out the mess. I feel confident that it'll serve me well for the years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent sound quality The speaker has enough punch of bass that can shake the room at levels above 20 and at the same time, the voice clarity while watching English movies is a super specialty. I am in love with these speakers that delivers crisp voice clarity and excellent bass all that is controllable from remote. With surround mode on, the speaker gives room filling surrounding sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing sound and value The JBL 3.1 is terrific, super loud with amazing bass that can easily be reduced. There are so many ways to adjust the sound that you have to figure out which sound is best for each type of item viewed, from movies to sports or when watching blue ray. Takes a little time to figure out but definitely not overwhelming. Wondering if there will be surround speakers that i can add like the 5.1 system.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Where is the midrange sound?? I buy this bar and its a good stuff. Great design, great deep bass, great loud high sound. BUT!!!! And this is the biggest problem with this stuff: The midrange/mid-tones. JBL staff! Where is the midrange sound? I try many many music and if the music use this midrange Hz bass/sound, i hear only high sound and a minimum / very minimum bass or the low hz bass. I think the soundbar size is very low, and the tweeters is too small and not give mid-tones and the subwoofer bass is too deep so no mid-tones. Sry JBL, but this sound bar is not good for music. :( The virtual sound is terrible, its only a wider stereo. But the soundbar is good for movies. Transformers rulez!! :D

Is there an input on the subwoofer which could be connect manual through a wire to something like a receiver?

Asked by: jakemalavet
No, the subwoofer for the JBL Bar 3.1 is designed to work with the soundbar alone and not with a receiver.

If I want to this system for simply Music Listening, Can I add an Aiport Express device to it and make it an Airplay enabled speaker system ?

The JBL BAR 3.1 is capable of connecting to devices via HDMI, Bluetooth, AUX, and optical connections. If these connections are available on the Airport Express, then you should be able to add it.

Soundbar keeps turning back On after I use my Harmony Ultimate One to turn it off. I have yet to get it to obey all the proper commands/activities from my remote (it keeps flipping to the wrong input, etc). Any help to get these two to get along?

Asked by: abenglish84
Hi! You could double check if the source/s are set to CEC, and is connected to the JBL Bar 3.1 via HDMI, this could be causing problems. Try turning off any CEC on the devices that are connected to the 3.1, and see if that helps. If the issue still persists, wewould like to work with you directly to help you with your issue. Please submit a case request at https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

I have an issue abouth center channel of these sound bar. If my TV have only DTS and PCM audio output will I get sound from center channel or sound bar will work in 2.1 formation?

Asked by: Rist
Hi! Yes you are correct, the Bar 3.1 has a center channel, and left and right. So, if the source is putting out a stereo signal, it will work as a 2.1 system and if you are sending a mono signal to the 3.1, only the center will play, if in surround mode.

Anyone else have volume issues with Fios?  Any button I use on my cable or universal remotes changes the volume based on its last volume input. Never had a problem with COX cable box. Anyone have a fix. Put in tech request a week ago

Asked by: Gsilcox
I am having this exact same issue.  It somehow repeats the last command given to the Bar 3.1 whenever I use the remote for my Fios DVR (Arris VMS1100).  I just got the soundbar yesterday and was happy until I discovered this issue.  If support can't help me, it is definitely a dealbreaker.  Hopefully they helped you out.
